Cover Art for "The Gossamer Gate"

I am *thrilled* with the cover art that was sent my way for The Gossamer Gate, my urban faerie fantasy, which will be released December 21, 2011 by Persephone Press.

What do you think?  I love the fact that it's a tad creepy.  Faeries are nothing to mess with, are they?  This is the only book I ever intend to self-publish, and I'm simply doing that to get Persephone Press going.  Hopefully it works out well, though, as I would like to get it out to traditional publishers.

However, submitting a self-published work can be tricky; it's not really something to mention in the query, since publishers don't care about that.  They want a story that is marketable.  If The Gossamer Gate enjoys any success via Persephone Press, then I will certainly be pleased, and may not concern myself with submitting it to other publishers.  It will allow me to focus on my other projects (in addition to promoting The Gossamer Gate and Dead Wrong).

It's back to work on revisions to The Gossamer Gate for me.  I just hope that our editor has power when I send it to her...  Irene is one heck of a massive storm!

To those of you on the east coast, please take care.  I grew up in Massachusetts and lived 10 years of my life in Delaware.  During those 34 years, I was fortune to experience some fairly weak hurricane and tropical storms, ranging from Gloria in 1985 to Bob in 1991 to Tropical Storm Isabel in 2003.  From the Blizzard of '77 through 2008, I experienced every east coast storm that hit New England and the Mid-Atlantic.

I'm a strong believer in treating storms with the respect they deserve, but also in positive thinking.  Be smart, be prepared, and put your energy into believing that everybody will be safe.

If you are out there on the east coast, I am keeping an eye on you and want to know that you are safe.
